OBTAINING A UCONN CMS MAINFRAME ACCOUNT

The CMS mainframe account is an adminstrative account that gives the owner access to the mainframe environment. The mainframe is a centrally-supported computer which provides the computing support for the core business of the University. CMS, or Conversational Monitoring System, is that component of the mainframe operating system that provides the personal computing environment used by most people.

Each prospective FOCUS user must have a CMS account assigned to them before they are given an FRS operator number or access to FOCUS. These accounts are given out by the University's Computer Center. The application form that needs to be submitted to the Computer Center can be found on the following web site:
